i mean,.. my thought still has this is blantant plagiarism.
okay, youtube guy is right that many of today's art is basically also plagiarism but humans know the distinct difference between when they recycle/rephrase other peoples work fit to purpose and when new work needs to be created.
it's like that MS example of planning a 5 day vacation to wherever. the AI didn't figure anything out,.. it found human made sources and plagiarized them. so horray!! AI gave me the exact answer in the exact way i wanted it without needing to go to any of the original sources!! ...expect now these original sources can no longer make money so they no longer get made.
It'd be literally impossible for it to exclusively plagiarize like that.
Simple example is math. It's very easy to guarantee that the model never saw both of these numbers together in any of its training data, yet it can synthesize the correct answer with just its understanding of text.

The AI made this sucky travel plan all on its own off the same primary sources most vacation planners use.
i guess i just don't think this is a rosy situation. all the money going to the skimmers and not the creators. it ensures the only creating content for the AI to plagiarize has a motive:
1. as the owner of a thing (like a restaurant) i want to "train" the AI to say this or that about my thing.
2. as an bumb i want to spread disinformation.
i don't think the technology is inherently evil or anything. far from it. all tech has good and bad aspects of it. i do think that unregulated specifically with respect to content creator rights this will end badly. these types of AI should not be allowed to "train" on content found on the internet without paying those content owners for their work. i think that's the thing needed to keep this boat afloat instead of capsizing.
Do you consider it different than wikipedia and other websites that rehost information from primary sources?
I think the only legal solution is to make people responsible for what they do with created work, treating it like every other tool. Currently Google and bing are legally allowed to read websites and learn about them yet they'd still get in trouble if they rehosted too much. Why does AI need a different framework?
