Lady found the tutorial area for Breath of the Wild 95 hours into the game to find out that you can hop in the game.

A big one for me, was playing Skyrim.

I don't remember exactly how much I played. Something like 5 to 10 hours I think. I was picking up everything I could find. I thought it was amazing that a game had so many items.

Find out that encumbrance is a thing, and you walk very slowly. And I think I was walking slowly for like 20 minutes, thinking something was off.

I had this happen in the Outer Wild's DLC. Hard to describe without spoilers, but basically I had incredible luck and nearly finished the game without ever discovering the game's main mechanic.

Somehow within a few minutes of starting the DLC I accidentally solved one of its most important puzzles and I used that knowledge everywhere instead.
