i'm not really grasping why i should care about this.

1. remapping button inputs and deadzone. saving layouts.
why does this require a hardware solution.  should this just a feature of the OS?  not that i'd use it but if i were inclined to use it that's where i would expect to use it.

2. back buttons
okay i get why some people would find this to be an upgrade.  not something i'm interested in but i get it

3. swappable sticks
is there an advantage to this other than if drift becomes an issue i can replace the stick without needing to replace the entire controller?   with how bad drift issues have become (with all 3 console makers) i kind of think this should just be a standard feature not an advanced feature.

i would have expected that if we were making sticks swappable it would have included the ability to swap the positions of the left analog and the d-pad.   overall i prefer the layout of the playstation controller but the xbox layout does feel nicer for first person shooters.  being able to support both layouts would have been a real improvement imo.

4. on controller user interface
umm.. i mean i already have those buttons on my headset.  isn't that the more sensible location for them since it has to do with chat volume.  i'm going to be honest here,.. i loath that chat only comes though the controller when my headset isn't on.  having the option is cool but it's not loud enough for me to hear.  not being able to redirect the voice chat to the TV is a horrible design.

all in all i don't view this as an upgrade.  if it comes out the same price as a regular controller (it won't) i'd consider it but i can't see myself buying this just for the possibility of addressing controller drift issues...
