I don't think sotc has aged well, but that sounds pretty bad. Which colossus did you stop on?
#7 I think. The one which climbs up walls.

Spoiler for Hidden:
It took me a while to work out that you have to let it climb and then shoot its legs to make it fall, at first I was just trying to jump onto its underside from the gaps in the walls. But then I realised that you have to do it a few times, as it doesn't stay down for long and its kinda frustrating to get it to climb to the right place etc. I kept going to the edge to shoot it and then falling off because edges are like magnets and there's no clinging on mechanic in the game. I stopped when he shot me when I was near the top which caused my character to get hit, roll off the edge, fall all the way to the bottom and die after I'd got it to less than half health.

I saw in the Era thread, and with reviews, that people are still loving it and that with the remake its managed to age very well and is still a masterpiece in the modern age. But I just can't see where that's coming from at all. I just don't think there's much good about this game at all. It feels like a game which is supposed to be very high quality, and thinks it is, but just fails at almost everything its trying to do.

I went back to SotC today. I hadn't played it in a while because I wasn't really enjoying it, and I think I'm not going to touch it again. I don't like it at all. It just doesn't feel good to play, the controls are annoying and the fights just aren't interesting. All there is to it is just finding the one trick to beat each colossi, working it out either takes a while or you see it instantly, neither case is rewarding. Once you know what to do, its often just frustrating to do it because of the poor controls. I just don't see how this is regarded as an all-time classic.

I decided to buy Celeste (on Switch) after giving this up and I'm instantly loving it. This seems like a fantastic game so far.

Well I played it for the first time when the PS3 remaster came out and loved it. They supposedly fixed the controls a bit in the remake. I thought they were fine in the remaster though for the most part, except for the camera in places.

How many views will it miss by not being in the middle though?
I feel like not a lot.  It might miss people tuning in late or changing early.
But I suspect it'd get missed more amongst a group of commercials in the middle.
