and holy crud does it load fast compared to the old.  too soon for me to have any other opinions because i literally just noticed it but i'm very impressed by the speed.

okay, well i see now how they got the speed up
- no wish list
- no screenshots
- no videos
- no filters
- no ps3
- no psvita

i really can do without filter/ps3/psvita but the lack of screenshots and videos on game pages is BS.

okay, i take this back.  the games that are launching soon appear to have highly varied and clearly customized game pages that include screens and videos.   it's only the older ps4 games that lack screens and videos.   so it looks like new pages gives the developer/publisher a lot of freedom to put their own marketing into the game page but as a migration for legacy pages the old screens/videos were dumped leaving some pretty bare bone pages.

i guess that means a bit of an awkward period for a while here but things moving forward look very nice.

Wishlists are gone!? It feels like they only just added them.

They removed a lot of features and its a downgrade overall but it does run a lot smoother now.

yeah.   from what i read before i thought they were going to dump everything in your current wishlist but still have the functionality.   unless i'm missing something i don't see any wish list capability at all.   disappointing,.. it was an effective way to quickly search for the games i want in a sale.

as a guy that does the business end of software development,...

.... i still see my "purchased" games listed intermixed in certain views like the list of games on sale.   really, seems like a very easy and mutually beneficial thing to do is to take games that i've already purchased and hide them or at least put them to the end of the list so that there is a priority on selling things that can be sold.

they really did.

they just fixed this "problem" in august of being able to purchase games you already own via ps+ when they go on sale.

What I find funny about that is they're essentially leaving money on the table from double dippers.  Though I guess they want those subs.

yeah, exactly.  "buying" a game i already own via ps+ is basically free money.  i don't know that i'd ever do it but seems dumb not to offer it.

but the feature i really, really want is game gifting.   i'd love to be able to do secret santa with you guys like i did back in the vgchartz/wii era.   again,.. free money.   i'd actually use it a lot because my best gaming friend is really poor and I'd like to buy him some games that we can play together.   I just can't ask/tell him to buy certain games because he just doesn't have the money for it but i do.

Game gifting would be amazing! Could PSN handle the increased hacking attempts though?  :P

hacking?   how does gift gaming increase hacking?   just as a way to identify accounts with large numbers of games?

Mostly just a joke about how PSN has been pretty bad with all the FIFA coin account hacking, and this could just make people try that for gifting games too.
