QuoteXbox Series X: The Most Powerful and Compatible Next-Gen Console with Thousands of Games at Launch

All Games Play Better on Xbox Series X

Not only should gamers be able to play all of these games from the past, but they should play better than ever before. Backwards compatible games run natively on the Xbox Series X hardware, running with the full power of the CPU, GPU and the SSD. No boost mode, no downclocking, the full power of the Xbox Series X for each and every backward compatible game.

such a weird thing to brag about.   is it compatible with my ps4 games?  no?  then what the fudge do I care.

this is a very important feature for "locking" the current gen users into the next gen hardware.  i mean, this is a significant reason i'll buy ps5 even if xbox launches better hardware.  but it's a big nothing-burger for anyone that doesn't already have a digital library of games.

This is how you do pr. Who knows if it'll actually be better, but it sure sounds better.

Sony keeps messing up their PS5 PS4 BC talk. Resetera once again is worried that it will not support a lot of games or be a bad experience.

This is just Microsoft boasting that XSX BC is great.

Resetera being worried about dumb shame is meaningless, that's just business as usual.

Also this "no boost mode" brag is just weird and meaningless. A game that was originally locked at 720/30, is still going to run at 720/30 even if you throw 12tf's at it unless it's patched.

I'm not sure what they're getting at.

"Backwards compatible games run natively on the Xbox Series X hardware, running with the full power of the CPU, GPU and the SSD. No boost mode, no downclocking, the full power of the Xbox Series X for each and every backward compatible game."

It's either a massive exaggeration bordering on a lie or they've come up with a really novel approach. Will be interesting to see the system in action.

I'm pretty sure it's just "there's no normal mode and boost mode, there's just normal mode" (which is the same as Sony's boost mode).
