If the US passed it, it would likely be the thing to make it happen.  Definitely the country that has the most pull over the gaming industry.

Hopefully it happens and doesn't get converted into something else. Banning these things for games targeting kids should be obvious. Industry could self regulate by making esrb push these games to mature regardless of other content but that doesn't seem likely.

It is crazy how negative the comments are here. Lots of good reasons to not want the government involved but frustrating how that's basically the only upvoted opinion. Reddit posts from a few hours ago were a lot more positive about the news.
