This has been, what, Microsoft's third attempt at creating some kind of system like this that ended up failing miserably? I think they seriously overestimated the value of their own titles to sell this whole thing. No one was going to suddenly stop buying on Steam or go out and buy Windows 10 because Killer Instinct has a character pack sale on the W10 Store or because Gears of War 4 released. Microsoft is trying way too hard to dominate an open platform. Someone needs to remind them that they don't need to control the sandbox to have fun playing in it.

Hopefully with these releases - it will mean we will see more older releases of games that were originally on Steam or on non-Steam platforms but no longer available such as Fable 3 for an example.
