Wow that is very very huge. I really hope there is enough warning.

Just was upgraded to 8.8. Wave is predicted to hit Hawaii in a few hours or so so they have pretty good warning.  Entire west coast has advisory

Got my raspberry Pi set up and working for some things. Built a little antenna so it could replace my old ADT system. Guess the antenna is pretty good though cause I'm picking up way more than just my own sensors.

I will try using wifi to detect when people come and go. I'm really getting in to this whole automation thing.

lol wow that janky home made antenna was toooooooooooo good. Would get overpowered by sensors that were within ~20 feet of it.

I am still messing around with home security. Almost downloaded plex! Wanted to play a custom alert sound on my Alexa Echo, but I don't think it's worth the trouble.

It's kind of crazy how many big inventions Sony had in the late 1900's.

- first commercial portable cassette player (Walkman)
Trinitron TV, was basically the best TV for a long time.
- they were also the first to commercialize the lithium ion battery and apparently were the ones to call it that.

Idk, I just felt having a 30 year lead on TVs and revolutionizing battery tech was a little more notable.

I don't usually do this, but I posted on some climate change skeptic post on Facebook.

And I've gotten like 70 replies, and there were probably like 5 relatively nice and relatively intelligent replies disagreeing with me.

And the other 65 were almost comically stupid, a lot of name calling.

Makes me weep for humanity.
