Rain World is incredible. You should probably play it

It's an instant classic for me, up there with FEZ and Soma. Finished it last night after around 20 hours on easy.

I absolutely love how much freedom you're given to figure out things on your own. The game starts by just showing you fall down a hole and telling you only the most basic mechanics. Everything else is left for you to discover on your own.

The world is absolutely massive, around 5 times larger than games like Metroid or Hollow Night. I don't think it's fare to call it a metroidvania since the scale completely changes how exploration is approached.

It has flaws that stop it from being a perfect 10/10 imo, but dang does it get close.

(Marketing made it sound like this game had similarities to Hapax so I've been tracking it since 2016. It didn't disappoint in this regard either! Hapax is kinda like Rain World but 3D and with puzzles not combat.)

Legend

I absolutely hate the popular interpretation of the game's lore. If it's correct then it ruins the game for me, but it just seems so stupid and full of plot holes.

The blunt interpretation is that every single being is rightfully suicidal and trying to kill themselves.
