Technophiles don't really care about price. They care about tech. They're not going to turn their nose up at Scorpio if it isn't $500 or more. No matter what, the higher the price goes, the more potential sales you're going to lose. It just depends on whether or not you're willing to lose money on every sale. Which it doesn't sound like Microsoft is at this point. Which I don't blame them. You're not going to catch up to Sony at this point even if you charge $400 for it because it's an enthusiast product aimed mostly at people with 4K displays that will not have any of its own games. Even if it did, they'd be few and far between.Yeah an artificial $500 would suck.
I mean making the case titanium or something and making it feeling worthy of the high price. Then also make a good profit off each unit.
