Could be "a new IP within the Star Wars universe" or some other reasoning like that.

I used to play this game called Evony.

Was a lot of fun.  I heard about it from a family member.

I thought the game was a lot of fun.  You build houses and other things, manage resources, start wars with other players.  But other sites had very weird advertisements for it.

Spoiler for kindaNSFWbutReally:

Yeah I've seen that add before.

Made me assume the game was trash.

The game itself is pretty decent if you like RTS games.  I personally would love to make a game like it, but improve on some things.

The ads are ridiculous though.  There's absolutely no correlation between the ads and the game.  It makes as much sense as advertising VizionEck with lots of lady models.
If the ad convinced someone to buy VizionEck, they'd play the game wondering what happened.

Get to work on your game then!

Maybe I should advertize VizionEck that way. It's basically free money.

Soon!  (Hopefully)

Yep!  Lol.  Get 2 million sales, just for people expecting a pervy game.

Then people get mad.  :P

On a different note.
I think RTS games are tricky.

I feel bothered by games that have an ending.
Age of Empires for example.  I love spending hours building up my civilization.  Even setting up friendly games where everyone is on the same team just so I can basically play it as a city builder.  And I enjoy building huge armies to attack and stuff like that.
But at the end of it, you win and basically have to restart your city building.  It feels kind of lame, because you work to put in all this progress, just to have to redo it again for the next round.

On the other hand, I feel bothered by games that don't have an ending.
Okay, now I'm waiting 6 hours for the next upgrade...  That's fun....

Have you played Civ 5? It isn't real time but it has very long matches.

the-pi-guy

Haven't played, but I think i have it.  Maybe I'm just weird.

Think long games+ large maps could help.

Each match is ~15 hours at standard pace so you rarely finish the game feeling like you just finished setting up your empire.

Maps can get really large too, with 12 players and 24 citystate players.

One of my favorite PC games.
