There's already time travel in the game.

Alternate dimensions was something that was considered in the original story but was trashed because Nomura wanted few more years to make the game and he wanted it to be a trilogy.


Anyways, if they used time travel to prevent the deaths, then they are screwed either way.....guess you havent played FFXV? lol

They don't need to use time travel to prevent their deaths. Instead have the events of the second game take place before their deaths or have them be "clones" in the time travel sense so only the originals need to die. It's FF, you can make anything up

If they never watched or heard of the source, how would they know its a spoiler or what or who the characters/events are? If they somehow know its a spoiler, then they've been spoiled even before the actual spoiler is posted.
