meh.  

i love RTSs and afaik age of empires is great.  but RTSs on consoles is a terrible experience.   it's the one genre of gaming i miss since going console only.

I never really got into age of mythology. Was at least fun trying it out though.

Age of Empires II is my favorite and frankly the fanbase's favorite.

Age of Mythology is probably second, I would guess.

Age of Empires 3 is pretty disliked and Age 1 feels very outdated.
