i downloaded the demo last night.   i didnt' get too far probably.  soo much cinematics and soo little gameplay.  good story i guess but soo much story.   for gameplay i've only gotten though the "training" and it looks promising but this opening does a thing that i personally hate:
1. show a cut scene
2. give control to the player
3. the player walks for 10 seconds to the next location
4. another cut scene.

like seriously,.. it's not gameplay if it is just 10 seconds of walking.  don't even bother just make a longer cut scene.  

i left off where we enter the first area that seems to be promising combat.  i'll at the very least go through that before making a final judgement but i'm not feeling this game at a $70 price tag.   might motivate me to play one of the free FF games i have in the ps+ catalog though.

It'll be a return to form, best Final Fantasy game since XII in 2006.

I am assuming after the demo finishes the game will start to open up but it is very narrative heavy yeah.

The demo gets a lot better. I thought the same at first but now I just want to continue playing for the story

well tonight's my "coop" night so not playing it tonight but i'll pick it back up on friday or whatever.  i just got back from vacation and with school just finishing i've got a major change to my routine getting the kids to camp and so i've just been a bit stressed and tired.   ...but i was definetly getting very sleepy playing the demo yesterday.  had to just put it down and go to bed after ~1 hr of rocket league.  xD

Business Unit 3's last two expansions for XIV scored 90-92 across the PC/PS4/PS5 SKUs. So this team has been hitting 90+ recently.

Anyway, I'm hopeful it will hit 90+. The whole single player stretch from FF6 and FF12 were all in the 90-94 range and it would be awesome to see single player Final Fantasy back in form.

I saw their expansions did great but it feels like such a different situation. FF16 will have a lot more reviews.

I'm really liking the combat and story so far. I'm pretty close to wanting to buy the full game but I'll hold off till reviews and finishing the demo
