Do you ignore game features that make it too easy?

In Outer Wilds a computer tracks all your discoveries. That on its own would be pretty nice, but it often includes bonus info you didn't figure out. Plus it holds your hand imo.

In my playthrough I quickly learned to ignore it. Made the game way more fun imo. I haven't seen many people share that opinion however.

I have a similar thing in Hapax but I'm pretty sure the majority of players won't consider it optional  :P

I often ignore leveling up my characters. In Horizon 2 for example I built up over a hundred skill points once since I was enjoying the game as is.

I don't think I've ever avoided features to avoid making a game easy.

I certainly ignore a lot of features.

Features that feel fairly pointless:
Elden Ring has a fairly large item crafting feature that I ignored, because it doesn't really help me with the way I wanted to play the game.

Features that are different ways of playing:
In the souls games in particular, I usually find a sword that I like, and then use sword fighting throughout the experience. I don't usually do much with magic for instance. Just not really the way that I want to play.

I know some people were talking about ignoring the listening mode in TLOU, but that was never something I felt was needed. In large part because it was integrated into the experience.

i ignored leveling up in dark souls 1 to increase difficulty.   i quickly decided the game was too easy due to my prior experience with demon's souls.  i capped myself at lvl 9.  I got though the entire game at that lvl and though smog and orstien in ng+.   i finally got stopped by the 4 kings boss.  my dps was too small to rush them and i couldn't do the fight with all four kings spawned.

i ignore the ryno in the R&C games.  i don't like how it makes the game sooo easy.

i as a rule ignore crafting items.  it's not me trying to make the game easier but my personality is just one that i always want to "save it for when i really need it" and then i beat the game having never used it.
