Quote from: nnodley on Yesterday at 06:18 PM@the-Pi-guy so I think my issues may be Plex. I can watch the rips just fine with VLC player and don't notice issue, but when i watch on Plex is when i see skips or corrupted looking frames. Any ideas on what to do on Plex to fix that?
Do you know if Plex is transcoding?
- enable direct play
- disable hardware acceleration

Is this over wi-fi?

I'm not sure I'll have to look for those.

I'm wired into an Eero wifi mesh extender

My transcoding is set to Automatic. Looks like direct play is on. It may be the web based version of Plex causing issues. I downloaded the windows plex app and set all those that you said. It seems to run fine on the windows app.  I'll have to test other versions to see

I've heard the web Plex is pretty bad.

Some TV shows seem to be weirdly nice for being ripped.

Rick and Morty Season 8, even actually had every episode labeled in the file name. 99 times out of 100, the file names just come out as something like track_01.mkv or TVSHOW_DISC1_01.mkv

Sometimes the episodes are even merged or obfuscated.

But this was literally EPL_01.mkv

Apple TV plex app seems to be working ok. I'll have to go through a lot of the ones I did a while ago and check them fully just to be sure but I think i may be good

Hmmm episode 5 of For All Mankind gives me an Uncorrectable Error. Both MakeMKV and EaseFab Lossless copy both can't get that episode. Every other episode is fine.

that particular disc seems to have some imperfections.  I may try cleaning tomorrow with some 50/50 water/alcohol and see if that helps

Common things I try:

- using a different drive
- making a backup with makemkv sometimes works better.
- cleaning the disc

Sometimes unfortunately just have to get a new disc. Not very often though.

looks like it failed on one of the files making a backup. Still need to try cleaning it.  Not really wanting to buy another drive right now. I may just get a replacement from amazon
