We're not allowed to have even remotely pretty looking women in games.  With that said; yeesh.  Her first model was pretty intimidating.  She went from looking like someone who'd beat your dog to some granny waiting for Elie to come back home from grocery shopping "Hey Joel, did you see Ellie?  She's not back from the convenience store".

okay, first off,.. she's still hot in the remake even if she is portrayed as older.



and secondly, in TLoU opening scene is Joel is already 30 with a 13 year old daughter.   by the second scene 20 years has past and Joel is now ~50 years old.   We don't have an exact birthdate for Tess but since she has a romatic relationship with Joel I think it's fair to estimate that she's not supposed to be more than 10 years younger so she ought to be at least 40+.  

I think the remake does a much better job at portraying an accurate portrait of a 40ish year old women living under 20 years of constant stress of certain death by "zombie" clickers.   it's not "not allowed" to have pretty women in games but don't dismiss the world/story being told here and neil's desire to have as much realism as possible.   joel and tess aren't 20 year olds,.. they are old.    that's not up for debate,.. the timeline in the original release provides the context that joel is ~50 during the first game.   ...old enough to be a grandparent.

Don't think I've ever seen a game go from announced to gold in a month.

nintendo doesn't announce "gone gold" afaik but they have enough late announcements that they've must have done it at least a few times before.
