i think that quixalScan Library will be a huge time saver for a lot of games.

focus on building your main characters and such but fill the environments with fluff from "clipart"

we'll probably get a lot of "samey" games but at the same time that fluff is probably a big time sink to make and remake for every game

having a community of assets to pull from seems like a great idea to me.

It's been that way for a long time, except the better devs are good at hiding it.

yep its what i'm using for my game actually.  Its a gamechanger and you would be surprised how many games are already using them.

And they also have their own software called quixel mixer where you can take any of their scans and can retexture them however you want.  You can even turn things into more stylized as well.  Its highly versatile.

also sooooo happy this is now production ready.  Nanite and lumen are absolutely stunning.  I've got 10's of millions of triangles in my scene and it still runs over 60fps.  Though that is on an RTX 2080 but it should still run really well on something like a 980 or 1080 with a little lower settings.

i have not tried full 4k yet, but one step at a time.

I even use quixel mixer haha. Can't use megascans but it's a great free alternative to other options.
