Also I don't think a psvr2 state of play makes sense. If they want to show off hardware they'd want in person demos. Where there any vr only state of plays before?

No, but many do:

The Last of Us 2
Ghost of Tsushima
Demon's Souls This one was dropped with no announcement iirc
Horizon Forbidden West might not get one because it already did.
Destruction All Stars
Returnal Apparently this is one too, even though it's only 3 minutes long. 
Ratchet and Clank this one had two other games with it, but was still 16 minutes out of the 22 minute showcase.


Spiderman didn't get one as far as I can tell.  And neither did Astro, or Sackboy. 
Still a pretty strong chance.

I could have swore they had a VR focused state of play, but this looks like it's the closest to that:

And I guess technically, it wouldn't be called a State of Play, but probably "future of gaming". 

I think Sony would want an in person showing, but I think covid will still be putting a damper on that.
