i've been openly asking for sony to start aquiring things but this is not what i had in mind.

mayhaps they have a lot of confidence on that ND MP game....

i don't think they will limit games to games on playstation platforms.  that would kill the event immediately.  but having playstation featured heavily in the ad space is something i'd expect and i dunno,.. maybe it's worth it just for that?

Getting into eports/competitions is smart. That level of vertical integration is really powerful.

I thought EVO however had been struggling in recent years.

Its very clear he is an xbox fan boy.

Sony expanding their business into e-sports makes sense. If its profitable and can grow, why not?

A lot of these forum posters just want to play the console wars. But an acquisition like this makes A LOT of sense. Sony makes profit selling consoles, games, and has a market place. Why not expand into e-sports?  this a classic case of vertical integration.

The question here isn't just how this will make the playstation business bigger, but how the playstation business will make this bigger. Sony has a massive user base, heavily expose them to this, and they can increase their numbers and thus profitability. More money for Sony. This is a very smart acquisition the more I think about it
