target gave some clarification a few days ago.  they will have stock allocated to day of purchases (aka stock not allocated to pre-orders) but you can't walk up to the counter to buy it.  you have to go to target.com to reserve it and then grab it via the curb side pick-up.

I guess that's reasonable given the current state

That seems pretty smart even without covid. PS4 launch day was madness and while I loved seeing the videos, there is no need to do it again.

Yeah this is an amazing call from Sony. We don't want people fighting over PS5s in COVID times and this is much more civilized.

yeah, i agree.  i imagine black friday is going to be very, very different this year.
