but do you have a very premium (aka expensive) and highly curated (aka locked down to minimize functionality) PC?

That will be interesting to see. That locked down part.

It sucks either way. Don't lock it down and it becomes almost laughable, just launching the xbox app on boot. Literally not a single thing making it unique compared to the billions of windows pcs out there.

Do lock it down and yeah, it'll feel more like an xbox, but unless it's a real xbox like today then that is just restricting features for no benefit to the player.

QuoteSCOOP: For the last two years, Microsoft has pushed Xbox to hit profit margins of 30%, an ambitious target that's far higher than the industry average.

This chase for profit has led Xbox to raise prices, cut thousands of jobs, and rethink everything.

30% is very high.  I think Nintendo, MiHoYo are the only ones that usually hit that kind of number.

Activision in the past has.

Sony is more like 10%.

if a company has a 30% profit margin they should be under heavy government scrutiny.    a profit margin that high means that they have anti-consumer policies.  imo.

I think it'll be a dual boot type of device, which is probably the best thing that they can do.

Dual boot as in making it one half Xbox only and the other half Windows.

But its likely going to be Windows boot with Xbox emulated (which I'm assuming its gonna be a app specifically only for Windows).

The problem is, the games will be windows games either way. No dev from this point forward will make xbox ports. Instead it'll just be verifying and optimizing the windows build for this hardware.

Dual boot seems like a lot of work for very little gain.
