Well that sounds great for Rare... let them throw out their game and then just throw them under the bus like Lionhead?

And yeah, for now I see no real reason to believe Spencer is going to do a better job with their first party studios. I mean for one he was the guy that put the wheels in motion for their big new studio to just become a Gears factory, following in MS clear footsteps of just having studios work on the same IPs for ever and ever.

Also I don't see MS giving more attention to these "Spencer" games, both Scalebound and Recore have been announced extremely poorly.

Maybe he'll prove me wrong this E3 but I just kinda doubt it.

Yeah wasn't Spencer in charge of first party studios before he replaced Matrick?

Quantum Break and Crackdown seem like the only games he wouldn't have been in charge of. Legends, Halo 5, Shangheist, Sea of Thieves, Rare Replay, Gears 4, Project Spark, Lococycle, Kinect Sports Rivals, and Max are all his to some extent.

Considering he abandoned Kinect and TV with his very first E3, I don't see why Aqua's posts make any sense.

I agree, Aqua's post doesn't resonate with me either.  The Mattrick games are a good point.  They're done now though.  What about the other stuff Spencer has been doing?  What about utilizing other studios to create titles instead of letting them waste away to be quietly shut down?  Mattrick didn't have all of Microsoft making Kinect games.  Black Tusk got repurposed after Mattrick left.  Mattrick didn't shut down Lionhead without telling them (They were literally talking about Fable's beta the day they were shut down).  Just seems odd.

This Phil Spencer talk is pure battleship.

The ideia of MS money from games will always kills franchises/newips... Phil has the same philosophy than Matrick... the difference is that Phil says what you (Xbox fans) wants to hear (but do the opposite).

i think we're going to see a poor showing for xbox this E3.

Gears,.. of course.  Crackdown,.. of course.  the next forza,.. of course.
probably finally see something about recore.  but expect this to disappoint once gameplay is shown.
something about windows 10 being awesome.
a bunch of third party multiplats.
another fully CGI trailer to a game that has a high chance of not actually having started development, might get canceled and if not is at least a year out from having any details about it shared.
..and i feel like halo 6 is getting announced because they need something to point at as exciting.

Guaranteed or very likely to be at E3

- Gears 4 gameplay
- Crackdown 3 gameplay
- Sea of Thieves gameplay
- Halo Wars 2 gameplay
- New content for Halo 5 multiplayer
- Forza Horizon 3 announcement
- Scalebound gameplay
- ReCore gameplay
- Battlefield 1 gameplay + XB1 users get DLC first

Pretty predictable stuff, though the gameplay can make the conference more exciting if done well. Cuphead may appear again depending on when it releases. I also have a feeling that Windows 10 will get more focus than it had before.

so basically re-announcing all those things that were announced last year back when they weren't ready to be announced but announced anyways.

Certainly confirms it takes place much further along in the story than the first one. I wonder if there will be overlap.

Xbox One TV DVR feature "on hold" indefinitely - NeoGAF

QuoteReplace my Xbox One with a VCR if old.http://www.theverge.com/2016/6/8/118...eature-on-hold
QuoteMicrosoft is no longer planning to add a TV DVR feature to its Xbox One console. The software giant originally unveiled plans to add TV DVR to the Xbox One back in August, noting that the feature would arrive some time in 2016. "After careful consideration, we've decided to put development of DVR for Over-the-Air TV on hold to focus our attention on launching new, higher fan-requested gaming experiences across Xbox One and Windows 10," revealed a Microsoft spokesperson in a statement to The Verge. "We're always listening to fan feedback and we look forward to bringing more requested experiences on Xbox One, Windows 10 and Xbox Live this year."

This is an important reminder to never put money down on vague future promises.

Like cloud computing and every Xbox One being a devkit. The second one happening way later and not actually a 1-to-1 devkit.

to be fair,.. it's not like all of the ps4 promises are complete yet or were complete day-1.  i just read an article and ps4 is scoring pretty good but thing like shareplay took a couple years and psnow isn't nearly as integrated or awesome as i felt it was originally pitched.
