They are looking to put more games on PC, but exclusives to bring people to the PS platform is the most important thing.

They should buy Daybreak games. Go full circle.

Why are people always jumping straight to publishers when speculating about this sort of thing?

I know exactly what you're thinking.  Sony should buy From Software.

I'm glad Sony continues to reaffirm their interest in VR.
And I continue to hope that PSVR2 is a major jump over the original.  Massive massive amounts of improvement possible.

It better be otherwise Sony's efforts into VR will continue to be a waste of time that barely anyone cares about.

Sony should just buy xbox and nintendo, end the console wars easy, bigly!

i'm pretty sure sony would be hit with anti-trust lawsuits if that happened.

I love the current PSVR screen. Improvements can of course be expected because it has been a few years, but I am 100% ok with that level of visual quality.

Motion tracking though, oh boy. I use PSVR way less than I'd like because of this. Having only one camera for tracking is a huge problem with the current design. It makes games like job simulator nearly impossible because there is a dead zone "behind" you. PSVR imo is only for games where the player is expected to stay looking the same direction, like in cockpits or theater style environments. The second issue with tracking is that the headset and controllers tend to wobble along the camera axis. It's very dependent on the user's setup but it can feel like being drunk.

i agree that the screen is for all intents and purposed great,.. i think a resolution bump is in order.   but no, it is not the most intense area of investment sony needs to make.

...but wholeheartedly yes the tracking is very limiting.  the i'm looking backwards dead zone is pretty bad in some games.  i kind of prefer games that don't do that however not just because psvr is bad at it but also because i'm always nervous about hurting myself by not keeping myself sitting and looking forward.  loosing track of the real world is part of the selling point on vr but it's also very distracting if you are intensely worried about falling in real life by tripping on a real thing you can't see.  i got myself a spinning chair for vr so i can better play and feel safe.

but if they are going to lean into the 360 view thing they also need to drop the wired input.

the controller tracking, imo, is that bad when it works.  my problem is more about how bad it is once my controller goes out of view of the camera.  the camera's sweet spot is soo narrow for the head tracking that my "nature state" for hand position is just out of view.  i kind of have to play with my hands raised for no particular reason other than to make the game work.   for games like astro bot i can rest often enough that it works but keeping my arms up a lot is soo exhausting after a while.  aka the same basic criticism of motion controls i've had since the wii...

The screen is okay.
It works a lot of the time, but there's room for improvement there.  Some 4K screens would be mighty nice.  ;)

But yeah, the motion tracking is where it needs a lot of help.  Especially the controllers.

The wishlist for me is:
-higher res screen + larger field of view!
-inside out tracking
-wireless option available
-eye tracking!
-index like controllers

Wireless would be great.

I'd also just be happy with high quality "passthrough" like tech. Show a hologram in VR of your cords so that managing them is less annoying. Or show your fingers and keyboard when doing VR at a desk.

QuoteFor their 3-year plan, Sony allocated ¥1400bn ($13B) for strategic investments
In FY18/19, they already spent ¥700bn for EMI and to repurchase shares
In FY20, they want to spent ¥300bn (in addition to ¥400bn spent for SFH)
Among these ¥300bn :
they plan to repurchase ¥100bn of shares
they already spent ¥70bn in Bilibili + Epic Games
There are ¥130bn ($1.2B) left to spend in FY20
QuoteHowever, we are somewhat flexible on this figure as it also depends on what sort of opportunities present themselves.

I don't know if anyone looked into the report (I didn't, just going off what people have said.)

link

But it sounds like they have about at least 1.2 billion left to spend in the next 6 months.
