Launch window will probably mean February but who knows

Xevross

I'm betting March like inFAMOUS SS, could be Feb though.

in my opinion "launch window" ends in march.  i would not be at all surprised if this launches in feb/march 2021.   maybe the reason we don't have an exact date for like anything is sony is still working on the overall release schedule.   they'll want to spread their releases so there aren't too many at once nor too far between.  i would not be surprised at all to learn that a couple titles intended for the "launch window" or holiday 2021 won't make it and that the final release schedule will be reshuffled to accommodate.

Absolutely, and in a COVID world there could still be unforseen things causing a delay at any time.

Right now from PS studios it feels like Spidey & Demon's Souls for launch. R&C early 2021 (+ maybe DS if it slips), GT7 mid 2021, Horizon FW late 2021. And those are their tentpoles that everything else will move around. Sackboy, Returnal & Destruction Allstars will be thrown in any gaps I imagine.

Dreams, Ghost, TLOU2, Spidey MM & Astro's Playroom makes 2020 probably the best for Sony first party output ever. If Demon's Souls made it it would be undisputable. 2021 with R&C, GT7, Horizon 2 and more may well take that crown straight away, or at least slot into second.

along side spidey is also astro's playroom since that ships on the console.   maybe it's just me but i think destruction all stars will be decembers ps+ give away.

i agree sackboy and returnal can fit in anywhere they want to to pad out any game in the line-up, probably in the late spring to summer months.   i was originally thinking demon's souls would be early 2021 but with deathloop slipping maybe not.  i think it's ready but i also think sony will shift that around to pad out a gap and not commit that to launch day.

also, i know no one is talking about it but i'm still 100% convinced that TLoU2 and GoT will get a ps5 enhanced release at or near ps5's launch.  i'm convinced enough that that is why i'm not buying the game on ps4.  also i think ND's TLoU mp spin off is going to be ready in ps5's first year too.

horizon FW holiday 2021 will be the perfect end to an amazing first year from sony's studios.  add in all of those 3rd party deals they've been buying and ps5 is in for a heck of a strong launch year.

...but i'm going to put in one more thing.  more of a wish than an expectation,..  since bluepoint started demon's souls so long ago i'm pretty convienced they've already started their next project.   i really, really want their next project to be the ratchet and clack future saga since it clearly ties into the next game.

edit: oh yeah, GT7 fits in there somewhere too.  Probably summer to early fall for that one.

i know this isn't the think most people will be hyped for my my six year old loves lego games and even though he hasn't seen anything he loves star wars too.  he is going to be soo excited when i get this for him.

so does the imply that in season 2 all of the levels in fall guys will be replaced with new ones?   ..if so then fall guys actually has a chance of being interesting for the long term.

Crazy bit is that Sony will probably make that money back within the first few months of PS5.

not really.   miles morales is i believed confirmed to be not full price like uncharted lost legacy.   so $40 instead of $60.   insomiacs cut of that is probably only about $12 if they were independent after you take out sony's fee and the publishers fee and the retail fee.   so it would need to sell ~19 million units to break even with $229 million.

sony will make money quickly,.. probably even by the end of 2021 between miles and ratchet.   but not quite in the first few months...

Well I'm being liberal with "few". I wouldn't really call 6 months a few, but that's really what I'm meaning here.

Also, I'm really talking about Sony's overall revenue. Where they'd make that entire $40 for digital.

You're just comparing the difference between IG being first or third party.  Which from a cost analysis point mostly makes sense.  But it might be problematic, assuming that these games would exist in their current form.

I'm really just talking about overall revenue.  Which they'd need to sell less than 6 million copies between the two games.
