2. 17k surprises me.  every time i go to the store all of the consoles are sold out.   would have thought xbox would either be selling better than this or be better stocked if they only sold 17k in the month.

They stopped manufacturing 2 Xbox models. And the other is largely sold out.

based on my limited world view i have to assume stock limited.  xb1 probably isn't as in demand as switch and ps4 but that number feels too low.   i could have believed 70k but not 17k.  17k is just too low in the high video game demand pandemic world we live in for xbox in it's best selling region.

Yeah its this. Xbox One S regular is the only SKU left and production on it seems to have dropped a lot, its probably still recovering from the covid production shutdown and shipments will pick up a bit again but I think XB1 < 50k is guaranteed each month at least until November.
