Well good for them.  But the past few weeks have solidified that I won't be buying any of their games.

Several higher ups at Ubisoft were implicated in rape, sexual harassment reports.

They said they were going to make changes once this stuff came out, but it's pretty clear that they knew about it.

First report

I'm not backing from my principles

Ubisoft already tried making games with playable rape and torture scenes.

oh, okay.

well let me start by saying that i didn't take much time to read about the situation.  just skimmed for the gist.

ubisoft has 18,000 employees and a boycott will hurt the little people before it hurts the leadership.   these guys should be held accountable but the consequence should be jail not a slightly smaller bonus payout this year.

Well I saw a great argument about this. Those "little guys" get paid their salaries anyway and trash companies like this one often don't give bonuses to their normal employees or they wriggle their way out of them.

The best way to support these people is to try to get Ubisoft to change.

i was thinking more like we know it is inevitable that if a game is a financial disaster then the entire studio will be closed and they will be unemployed.

i mean i get it, you want to do something and not buying the product is about the only thing you can do.   i am also convinced that every product i've ever bought would (if scrutinized enough) highlight an injustice i'm outraged about that i'm supporting with that purchase.   i'm just very tired of trying to keep track of which businesses i can't support.  i hate that this is even a thing.

Well I'm the same but this is something I really haven't seen before. A company that has such horrible things rife within it and it knew exactly what was going on, it had a HR department dedicated to covering it up instead of doing something about it. They moved abusers around so they never got caught and they got new victims. And now they're still doing fudge all about it.

Its despicable. The world is a shaming place and every product has a reason to be boycotted, but this is just a whole other level.
