I love "squad building" in games

From Mass Effect to xcom, I love assembling teams. It's probably my favorite form of progression.

How about you?

MGSV took this feeling to the next level. D dog and quiet were great but every enemy npc could join your team. It was amazing building your base and building your forces. Also had one of the greatest moments in video games thanks to this.

The Outer Worlds would be a poor example of this imo. People join your squad with very little work and I didn't care for most of them. The three loyalty missions I did just felt like regular missions, instead of squad changing moments.

Xev and I were talking about something similar....

I love building teams.  There's this game where you fight all kinds of enemies like zombies, bats, bears.  And you can convert them to join your team.

It's not super rewarding per character (it's similar to Pokemon) but I still enjoy that aspect.

There's another game that i haven't played in a long time but it was still cool.  You could make friends with like a 100 different NPCs who could join your team and fight with you.

(Both you'd probably find them to be poor examples.  But I thought they were fun)

LOL! Yeah I thought this was you making the thread Pi after our conversation. Spooky!

I love this too, it's the best part of Bioware games for sure. Having a party to roam around with in a big world with lots of well written banter is so awesome. Building up a home base with progression through a game is awesome too, that's one of the things I loved about Ys 8.
