Knack of course.

Killzone Shadowfall

Horizon

Tlou2

The Witness

Elite Dangerous

Botw

Mgsv

Death Stranding

Witcher 3

Super Mario 3D World

Things I don't think about that much despite being amazing.

Gow-was great but isn't something I think about a lot. Also my dog died that week.

Mario Odyssey-loved playing it. Ready to see the future though.

Talos Principle-amazing yet I really don't remember it.

TLOU 2 - it's hard to think of a game that has made such a splash.  Positive or negative.  It was going to be a memorable game just like TLOU and it invoked some of the same feelings. But the reception has ensured that it won't be forgotten.

Horizon - it was a brilliant change for GG.  GG has made great games before, but it was such a crazy switch for them.  The game isn't perfect, but they pulled it off and made a great title here.  My hope is that in the future, we will be able to look back on Horizon and see it as GG's Uncharted 1 moment.  Where after that, they are able to pull great talent and just continue to make great games.

Bloodborne - it's hard to think of many games that have had quite an impact on me.  This is probably this gen's Uncharted 2 for me.  An all around great game.  One that feels absolutely great to play, that has me coming back very often.  One that just feels like it nailed everything it was going for, that I don't know what I'd really change about it.

Dr. Pezus

Bloodborne, Spider-Man, God of War, Horizon. Knack I guess since it was talked about a lot.

Rocket League and fortnite too I guess.

Hmmm I guess on their own merit the games that do/ will stick in my mind are:

TLOU2 - what Pi said

Horizon ZD - probably the most excited for a game I've ever been and it lived up to it. I loved the setting and everything about it. I still think often about the reveal of this game and how awesome it was, and of course the actual game itself.

God of War - kind of similar to above. This game was frickin awesome and I still think about it constantly.

Red Dead Redemption 2 - a huge game that was fantastic through and through but of course I'll never forget that story.

Breath of the Wild - just a phenomenal game that still comes up all the time. One of the only single player games I'm happy to keep returning to and play a few hours every now and then.

Driveclub - this game was just a whole saga I'll never forget. The hype leading up to it and the delay. The launch problems and initial disappointment but then the recovery and incredible post launch support that kept me going back for more. Its still one of my top 3 most played PS4 games I believe, I won't forget it because of how much time I spent with it, in my mind and on my tv.

Rocket League - for sure a crazy game that I've had so much fun with and keep going back to.

There's some other games that came out like EU4, Cities Skylines on PC that I spent a lot of time with and did define this generation for me in some ways too, but I don't think they stick in my mind.

Weird ones for me are TLOU and GTAV. Both are last gen but I only played them on this gen and they are two of the biggest games ever that will definitely stay in my mind forever. Fortnite I don't really like and barely played but it'll be hard to think about this gen without remembering it.

I know what you mean about Mario Odyssey, it was brilliant and so much fun to play but itss just another mario 3d game at the end of the day, nothing to make it stand out in the mind years after playing. Jump Up Superstar, maybe, but that's not really enough. Bloodborne is similar for me, I loved it to bits and I see people talk about it a lot but I've moved on. Killzone SF is a fun one because it was the first game I played on PS4 and the graphics really blew me away, but the game itself is forgettable.

I think your dog dying most likely was the reason GoW didn't make the top list. I think about the game a lot despite only finishing it once.

Dogs dying is just terrible. That happened to me in April. Don't remember if I posted here about it

I'm really sorry about your dog.

I loved gow. It really was great. Like I can easily remember so many awesome moments. It's even my only Platinum trophy outside Uncharted/tlou.
