Hmmm, not sure then.  Legend will take a look when he gets here I'm sure. 
Didn't see a setting that impacts that.  The title should bring you to the first unread post, the "arrows" on the right side should bring you to the first or last post depending on which you click.

That happens if you browse by specific boards verse the forum index. Is that what you're doing?
