Been hearing secondhand whispers tonight from several devs/pubs that E3 is cancelled, although I've also heard from a couple of people in positions to know that the ESA hasn't officially made a decision yet and is still consulting with pubs. My day started with investigating some E3 stuff. Ended with multiple (and I mean MULTIPLE) sources coming my way.

E3 cancelation announcement scheduled for tmw AM. I don’t think it will hold the night. Many of us have been engaged by sources this evening.

But, again, whether or not it's announced tomorrow morning, it's only a matter of time before E3 is officially cancelled. Publishers can't afford to wait much longer to make their plans, and all signs point to the virus getting way worse in the U.S. before it gets better

sucks for xbox as they were planning to attend and use the stage to announce the details of xbox. not that sony's ps5 announcement conference isn't also iced by coronavirus but at least it is iced on their own terms.

Looking back, Sony was smart to skip GDC and Pax. They would have been fine at pax but it's hard gambling on the future.

Who knows how bad or good it will be during E3 week so this makes sense. Shutting it down early is the safe option.

Wonder if the ESA will promote a special streaming day to fill the void?

I think E3 2021 will still happen but it will have evolved into a 90% public show and 10% industry show.
