makes sense.   

sucks for xbox as they were planning to attend and use the stage to announce the details of xbox.  not that sony's ps5 announcement conference isn't also iced by coronavirus but at least it is iced on their own terms.

Looking back, Sony was smart to skip GDC and Pax. They would have been fine at pax but it's hard gambling on the future.

Who knows how bad or good it will be during E3 week so this makes sense. Shutting it down early is the safe option.

Wonder if the ESA will promote a special streaming day to fill the void?

I think E3 2021 will still happen but it will have evolved into a 90% public show and 10% industry show.

i also think E3 will happen in 2021 but it's status will have been irrevocably damaged.
