Quote from: Legend on Nov 12, 2020, 02:28 PMYeah it's great. Only 2 downgrades from ds4 imo. The create+options button are a little tiny. The rumble has less oomph.

I love everything else about it!
Those are two upgrades. The buttons are much clickier and nicer to press. And "oomph" in a rumble is a bad thing, you want nice precise feedback, not overpowering vibrations that take your precision away.

So I held up the dualshock 4 and the dualsense to my mum and said which one do you think is the newer one and there was no doubt in her mind, she knew straight away. Said the dualsense looks futuristic, like its out of Star Wars.

Lucky guy I guess
yeah, but somewhere out there someone probably is unlucky and got a DE instead of a disc version.

i didn't actually intend to buy one but walmart was clear about their order for ps5 going live at 11 ET.   i was 7 minutes late but they were already out of stock.   I'll refresh again at their next "restocking" at 3.  I'll try to be on time next time.

Also just a side note, it's so great having this day finally arrive!!! I think I'm finally free to talk about PS5 lol.

i have no idea what kind of game bluepoint wants to make but I have no faith in that idea.  also not exactly the kind of game that lights the world on fire.

looks like the founder of the studio game game out of retro working on metroid prime.   that could be an excellent direction to go in.  metroid and dark souls and bloodborne share a lot in the level design perspective.  ...branched open world.   it is, imo, a big part of what makes all 3 games soo popular.

also it looks like the studio built the vita version of playstation all-stars.  i would love another attempt here that sucked less.

lol that's one opinion. DS4 had the best rumble out there up till today. I wouldn't call it overpowering or non precise, at least when used properly by a dev.

Yeah PS5 and DuelSense look very futuristic. I miss the colored face buttons but love the clear plastic look.

Bluepoint did an ICO remaster, a SOTC remaster, and a SOTC remake. I think they at least know the material really well. Risky sales though. They've grown so much since then.

Don't give them PSASBR2! Talk about a game that wouldn't set the world on fire.

Lol well I meant that oomph isn't the be all and end all, stronger vibrations can be a bad thing.

Also nah the dualshock 4 isn't the best, Switch has by far the best rumble I experienced, it's just not often used to its fullest.

so how does one go about adding the playstation collection to their library?   I was able to snag bugsnax here but the games from the playstation collection are still full priced to me.  I know i'm only supposed to be unlocked the ps5 versions or something but i'd like to add them to my account asap in case their is a change to what games are included.  fomo and all..

I have never had good rumble on switch, but I've only played Zelda+Mario+demos.

Duelsense has really nice rumble. It's pretty similar to switch in general but both of them are a paradigm shift compared to the old ways. DS4 let you get pretty specific with the frequency of vibration and you could adjust it freely, but modern haptics allow multiple frequencies to overlap exactly like a speaker.

so i tried again for the 3:00 allocation.  6 minutes of not being able to load the page.  ..then the page loaded and they were out of stock.   xD

Have you tried looking at the setting for it? You can change the intensity

Yeah I've spent a lot of time with the settings haha. Duelsense rumble is not weak, it's just more advanced tech that has different things it excels at.

A fedex truck came to my house a few minutes ago and I was really excited, but they had a different package lol. I'm really looking forward to Astrobot. First taste of a true next gen game.
