What I'd like to see Sony do:

1.) Make more smaller games.  Something along the lines of Uncharted 2, where they are sizeable games made in 2 years.  Not this 4-6 years that is becoming more common.

2.) Get someone to make a WRPG.  Buy a new studio if you have to. For me.  :-*

3.) What Kitler said.

Quote from: the-Pi-guy on Oct 07, 2020, 09:15 PMGame devs seem to love PS5.

Two at digital foundry have on different occasions mentioned that developers are happy with the system, even moreso than the XSX.  And that there are going to be some surprises.

Matt has implied several times the 10.3 is genuinely the level of performance you can expect at basically any time. (not always but it's the typical performance)

So many bad opinions. *smh*

Spoiler for Hidden:
Jk. I like the idea, but I don't know of any open world zombie games that really executed it well.

So I half agree, half disagree.
Devs loving PS5 means we'll love PS5.

WRPG would be a total waste for Sony, they can't compete with PC or xbox on it so unless they went all out it won't move the needle. The audience for these games are much bigger on PC than any other single player genre anyway, due to the nature of them and modding.

I mean its been really overdone and practically every open world zombies game has the exact same feel that got old about a decade ago.

This boy doesn't believe in Sony.

the statements in this video are pretty glowing for playstation and pretty damning for xbox.

not that i didn't expect that.  xbox's commitment to multi-platform inheritably means not fully utilizing the power of the hardware.   its your typical generic vs custom argument.

The tear down greatly increased my expectations for the OS.  If they are putting half that much attention to detail on the OS, I think it's going to be immensely better than the PS4 was.

Bugsnax previews live, here's kinda funny:
Confirmed a launch title and its $25.

in what way?

i mean, clearly you don't "know" how is it better but really what is even your wishlist of how they could improve.   for me other than "i wish everything loaded faster" there isn't much i can point to that truly needs drastic improvement.  the most drastic change i can think of is i wish when i looked at my friends profile page it had a "wall" of their recent activity for videos or pictures they posted.  basically make it a bit more like a social media page.

It's not really a better.

PS4's OS was basically completely from scratch. Some things were nice and well implemented, but there were features missing that the PS3 had like folders.  Took like 3 years to get folders.

So I was being pessimistic that it was going to be missing some obvious features at least on day 1.

Mostly I mean I'm no longer expecting any disappointing omissions like there were last gen.
Already know a few of the features from my wishlist are coming (like the wishlist on the PS store.).

At this point I'm almost expecting some kind of great feature that I hadn't even thought of before.

Yeah we know PS5 seems very well thought out and well planned, points to the UI being really good and a lot better at launch than PS4 was.

Seems we have the first PS5 expansion SSD.

Edit: good to note that the 1TB is the same price as the Series X expansion already, and that's with double the speeds. You have the option for different sizes and prices will keep dropping. This is why Sony's expansion solution is vastly superior.

But have you thought about the fact that you have to take out a screw to put in the new SSD? What a massive misstep on Sony's part, yikes is all I can say. I would totally love being locked into a proprietary storage solution if it meant not having to do this monumental task. Especially since I change my harddrive weekly.

Absolute fail and it shows just how inferior Sony's "engineers" are to Microsofts masterminds.

having played octodad i have to say i was really dismissive of this game based on the first trailer.  i'm quite surprised to see this is "a real-dog game".   looks charming.  i'll probably pick it up at some point.

Sony will never recover from this anti-consumer move.  They should learn from MS, to always go proprietary.

my assumption is that the ps5 OS will be an upgraded ps4 OS instead of a re-write.   i don't expect missing features in the way that ps4 had missing features.  I do expect some amount of reworking but nothing drastic.

my #1 wishlist item would be to ditch the 1hour limit on share play.   i know it won't happen but that limit is horrible when actually trying to co-op a game with it.  at the very least up it to 4 hours.   1 hour quickly becomes 40 minutes when you factor in the time it takes to log in and get a game going and then log out early when you realize that many of the indie game don't respond well to forced disconnect.
