Quote from: Legend on Mar 13, 2025, 07:33 PMIt would be great if they switched to a family system like steam. You simply make a group of people and everyone in the group has access to every game owned by someone in the group. Only restriction is that you can't have the same game played on multiple computers at the same time unless multiple people in the group own it.
limitation to group size?

that would work for me.   my wife hates games so really only need me and my 2 kids in the plan.   would be really helpful on a nintendo system as well where having 2 system feels like an inevitability but internet on a plane/car isn't a reliable thing.  but nintendo operates like a monopoly so maybe i should just feel good that nintendo doesn't charge and hourly fee on top of a $70 purchase...

6 people max. The way they stop it from being abused is that you can not join a new family group unless you haven't been a member of a family group for 12 months.

I used to not mind the old playstation/nintendo method but after steam introduced this new system, wow I would hate to go back.

era is reporting this:

at this point a ps5 port is just about the least surprising news ever.  but this probably points to the port being not too far off.

whelp.

i saw the price increase on xbox yesterday.

i purchase a new 65" TV a few weeks ago.   this is not to replace any existing TV but to add a 3rd TV to the house for movie nights.   i've been playing around with trying to decide how to utilize each TV.   I didn't like that my biggest TV intended for movie night couldn't be used to watch a bluray/4k disc as we borrow those from the library frequently.   i could move my ps5 over to the new TV but my older TV isn't "smart" and thus couldn't really be used for anything (even netflix).

impulse purchased a ps5 pro and the disc drive add-on this morning...

I currently have 3 controllers having issues. At least two of them are from near launch day. I thought I could swap some parts around and maybe have a fixed controller or two, but it wasn't working. So that was frustrating. I'm not sure if something is broken that I can't really see, or if there are some incompatible parts.

Pulling apart a Dualsense was surprisingly not as bad as I expected though. Was kind of fun actually.

Well.

I bought a PS5. The kids have taken over the other one.

First time seeing a PS5 slim.

For the most part I don't have any strong feelings about it. Some parts are a bit worse than the original.

Less loud at least?

My OG PS5 was already lucky in that regard. Didn't make much noise.

Except when the disc drive would rev up, then it'd be horrifying. Shaking the cabinet. But I pretty much always play digital nowadays

A lot of the times when I would play on my PS5, I would feel kind of anxious.

Is it really worth putting an hour into this 100 hour game, when I probably won't be able to play another hour of it, until a month from now.

And it just didn't feel good.

It felt so good yesterday, when I set up the new PS5. I felt like I could just enjoy playing.

That's awesome. So now you can just play when you personally have the time?

Pretty much.
