These insiders don't know shame. They didn't know about Bethesda, bungie, or AKB. But its so easy to now say "I heard of the next acquisition" and whenever the inevitable happens and an acquisition happens they jump and say "told you so".

Leaking games is a whole different ballpark from leaking giant mergers. The mergers happen at the highest level of the organisation and only a few executives are  privy about whats going on. Production of a game happens even at the lowest point of an organisation and even interns can easily know whats happening. Leaking merger info can also be considered illegal because it could result in insider trading.

But I will answer your question of who is next or what I think will happen. Ill just need to think about it

agreed with the aquisition part.   i've been though several and even as an employee i had no idea of any of them until the day it was publically anounced.

...and i know you're not some big shot insider.   it' a guess and a gamble.  i just want to hear your next prediction.   seems like a good thread idea to me at least.

doesn't sound that crazy.  of the things Sony can afford this feels like as good a fit as they can get. 

..and I would add monster hunter was a great live service game.

Here is part of my prediction of what will happen next in the acquisition war, or more of my analysis


Capcom
I dont think capcom will be bought. The biggest IPs they have are monster hunter and resident evil. Street fighter and Devil may cry are minor IPs they also own. SF was exclusive for PS4 and it literally did nothing for PS4. So it is it worth billions for RE and MH? I dont think so.


- MS is already under some scrutiny, as much as they would want to buy every publisher in existence, at some point they wouldn't be allowed to. So MS will likely buy the ones that fit them the most, with games that sell on their platform. If they buy capcom its more to fudge with Sony rather than benefit xbox. Monster hunter would die, street fighter and DMC dont sell much on xbox either. And resident evil will be a shell of its former self. These aren't the IPs that would survive on xbox and PC, perhaps just RE.

-Sony would likely benefit the most from them, RE can really help them with PSVR2. And monster hunter would be huge for them in Japan. But they can get these benefits a lot cheaper if they just do deals with capcom and not buy them outright, if I am right and MS doesnt want try to buy them. Sony buying capcom would be more of an act to fudge with Nintendo, but in the current situation Sony should focus on fending of MS.
