A dedicated gaming room is the way to go. It's been so nice having my own area and I don't have to worry about my wife getting upset that she can't watch TV while I'm gaming. Plus she like it because we also watch movies on the big screen. It's like having a movie theater in your house.

That would be nice too. But after having a projector I don't think I can go back to a tv and be happy. Projectors drop in price pretty quickly. It might be worth looking into. I only have a little over a grand in this one. I'll be look to upgrade to a Sony next year. I hope I can pick it up for 2000

Yeah, but I'm finicky about blacks.  There's nothing a projector can do to help that.

Just depends. You can project on a grey screen. Then their are higher end Projectors that are much better. My blacks are better than my lcd but not as good as my plasma.

Are those cabinets/shelves removeable?
If so I would recommend to get a few thin plates of wood, make some holes for the cables, paint them black and screw them behind the cabinets/shelves so you can't see the (black) cables and you won't be distracted by the white wall.

I'd love to see the difference, because I think that the way it looks right now would distract me too much.

Yeah, I actually want a Plasma, but with Panasonic not making them anymore... well I don't just Samsung or LG.  They're too OP for compared to what Panasonic was charging.  I'll just have to live with LED.  Hopefully Sony still still be making T.V.s and I can get one of them fancy Triluminos displays.

Theres also oled. Which i think is on par with plasma. LED are okay, but sometimes i feel the color are too vivid.  Plasma is actually pretty cheap now, i got my samsung about 3 years ago for 500.
