I don't think it'll go past the PS4, at least not after an initial surge.

Raven

It was selling for less than $400 since after the discount ended. Sometimes it was at $360. PS4 still went over it. I want to see if the X1's price is what actually sold it or if it was largely a holiday craze.

Ms better hope it's the price,  cause if they can't consistently outsell the ps4 for NDPs... Though fancy must be getting desperate for market share. Not sure why, considering that even when they had an actively larger userbase before they barely profited and have been hiding losses with Google money for a few years. This entire thing seems really mismanaged. If the google money ever dries up and the real losses rear their ugly heads what they're doing now is gonna be worse.

Sony needs to do an official price drop later this year now because the difference for the year will be small until the holidays and so if they do nothing like this year, XB1 will drop the price and overtake PS4 lifetime sales in the US.

I think they're going to do it. Rumors are swirling about a remodel of the PS4 and I think at this point Sony has to realize that stubbornly hanging onto the original $400 price is going to cost them in potential customers.

X1 AC bundle made it up to 11 before it dropped to 14. PS4 staying at 5.

It is January... neither an official price cut will save Xbox One.

Some guys in VGC things that Xbox One was catching PS4 in US when in reality the gap widened from ~150k to 500k.

A lot of people think only in terms of the present. They don't consider the big picture or they don't want to. It wouldn't be the first time that price drops and firesales allowed a product to temporarily overtake the competition. The crazy thing to remember is that all this talk about what's going on in the US is only serving to mask reality. That globally the gap has continued to increase.

welp

I already didn't except the X1 to go past the PS4, but it seems like it might settle further from it than I expected, and without even going past PS4 once (I thought that could happen in the first few hours of the price drop but nope). Has been frozen around 12-15
PS4 NPD streak incoming even more certain than before.

Now imagine what will happen when sony drops the price?

The highest the X1 AC bundle went to was 11 but it dropped quickly after reaching it. I was expecting it to at least get within two spots of the PS4 but it didn't. I'm not going to be quick to judge but the first day is not a good sign for Microsoft as far as the Amazon rankings are concerned. If by Monday the hourly sales still show PS4 with a decent cushion then I'd say we have our answer. That marketing and firesales during the holiday deal craze were responsible. Not simply two free games and a $50 discount. Which is still pretty telling that such a deal is what it takes to make the console competitive just in the US.

PS4 will naturally win January easily but people are wondering about Feb. I think PS4 will also win that quite easily due to having an exclusive out that month. March will be another easy win for obvious reasons. Then when Batman comes out will be another easy win etc.

Rorono

Well I don't see why X1 would win any until the Madden bundle
Would a Witcher 3 bundle be able to pull it off? I have my doubts.

Don't think so. It will likely sell more on PS4 like DA
