Quote from: ethomaz on Nov 28, 2018, 02:24 PMWeird because Benji said in the retail he works the PS4 $199 stock was way higher than PS4 $199 of the last year... and it sold out in both years... so 2018 probably is bigger than 2017 plus Cyber Monday counts for this year and not last year that means even the $199 being sold out more expensive consoles was sold like Pro helped by the Cyber Monday.
He did say that, but I've been following everything else he said since then. PS4 up to BF was down YOY by a fair amount, and while BF week was up, he said as it stands before cyber monday PS4 is down YOY but a good CM would help it finish up.

Ps4 was mostly sold out on cyber monday, and Benji managed to get CM data and said it was a weak day for PS4. Put all that together and its looking like PS4 is close to last year's performance, but probably down. Whether it can actually make it and be up might depend on how this COD bundle does in its first few days.

Quote from: BananaKing on Nov 28, 2018, 02:26 PMSo without insider talk and doing math only, we understand that switch sold how much in November? We know it's total this year October NPD, so how much did it do by this year's BF?
Only using the data provided by Nintendo... 800-900k without this week numbers from Tuesday to Saturday.

* If the 8.2m number account until the period they are talking in the PR (Cyber Monday).

It has definitely sold more than 820k. LTD at the end of October was 7.38M.

That would be up YOY anyway but by only 6%, which is just an impossibility with a pokemon launch and then BF period itself being up 115%.

I see Benji is convincing himself that his data is way off and he's saying Switch is a lot lower than he thought, despite saying if this is true its the most skewed that his data has ever been. I hope NPD proves he was right initially.

He doesn't need that... seems like he is afraid of ERA users trash him after the NPD results but that will happen no matter he is right or wrong... it is sad but that is how public internet works.

I think ps4 will be up. Switch below 1.3m and xbox below 1m.

Yeah there'll always be some idiots trashing insiders and ruining shame for everybody.

BananaKing

If benjis switch data is wrong it also means his PS4 data is most likely wrong too

But Nintendo gave us numbers, unless there is something we misunderstood it seems likely that the 820k+ figure is correct. Remember there is another week so it can still sell a hundred thousand or two.

If it ends up in the 1m~ range then it's up almost 40~ from last year. That's a big increase.

Cute Pikachu

Keep in mind the Wii sold 800k Black Friday week and this was higher(I know different days but a large large majority of those sales were Thursday-Sunday).
It's virtually impossible since that would mean Pokémon sold no hardware which is not true.

There's another 5 days, but yeah it would be an okay result but nothing more. With actual deals and a pokemon launch you would have expected way more than 40% up YOY.

Someone pointed out in the Era thread that Nintendo underreported Wii sales in December 2008(?).  They said 3m, NPD reported 3.8m.

Uhuh, I think the monday - wednesday will be absolutely maximum 100k of that. So Switch > 700k. Then you add in a successful Cyber monday for switch and it looks like >800k.

Xevross

I think we collectively established in the Era thread that Switch sold 800k+ in the week around BF, so that 8.2M isn't all the sales up to 26th for sure. Well that's good, still on target for that 1.5M November!

Switch did 700k last year November... how much it did in Black Friday to Cyber Monday? Nobody knows but at least in Black Friday it was way lower than 700k.
But cyber Monday not being in Dec should make the sales even higher in nov though lol.

Yeah I thought so too. It's likely that Nintendo doesn't have numbers for the rest of the month yet

Cute Pikachu

It's probably close to if not around 9 Million with the rest of November. Benji said Pokémon week was "fudgy insane" for switch hardware sales. That should be notable.
