That fularu guy is another like vena. Discussion was about vita having sold more then ps4 and that it was 2 years longer on the market. He says it doesn't matter when the ps4 outsells the vita because it will just highlight what a disaster both consoles were in Japan.

You can argue vita is a disaster coming off psp but ps4 is infinitely more profitable for Sony then ps3 was. It's selling more software and a lot more digital. It has way more ps plus revenue. It's hardware is making them money rather then losing a shame ton.

But yeah despite all that ps4 is a disaster in Japan. Ps4 can never succeed in Japan according to these Nintendo fanboys. since ps4 starting dominating WW MC threads became a sort of a safe haven for Nintendo sales fanboys on gaf. And the better the ps4 starts doing the more they melt. Quite fascinating and equally entertaining.

We now have early famitsu numbers for Splatoon and Switch hardware.

Both Dragon Quest SKUs should be able to comfortably beat that Splatoon number.

Hardware is kinda in line with what I expected, my Software expectation were higher though, but that might be because of the YSO predictions etc.

Yeah I think it will be close, hopefully PS4 can manage over 100k. Not because I want it to beat Switch but just because this is probably the last huge Japan release for PS4 and will probably dictate its sales for the rest of the year

Splatoon numbers are highly impressive of course, but am I the only one that somehow expected more from it? It must be because predictions that were floating around were talking about something like 850k first week.

Two takeaways I get from this are definitely that a) inspite of some people vehemently denying it, Splatoon 2 COMG numbers were absolutely inflated due to the chain being the first one to open pre-orders by far (FFXV had about half the points that Splatoon 2 ended up with and had a similar opening) and b) Dragon Quest XI will open significantly above Splatoon 2 on both platforms (I'm hoping for 1 mil first week on the PS4 version) and it will take Splatoon 2 a long time to outsell Dragon Quest XI, if it does it at all, even though some people treated it as some kind of foregone conclusion that Splatoon 2 would be above DQXI sooner rather than later.
