No. A Windows phone website. Who the fudge looks for Windows phones news? And there's a difference between the npd guy confirming the numbers and a leakers saying the leak is real

Who the fudge looks at Vita news? I guess every website that reported on something Vita related is small and irrelevant as well. Aside from the NPD guy himself there are not many (if any) leakers left on Gaf or elswhere. Aquamarine is gone, the other guy that used to give NPD numbers has been gone for months, Cosmicqueso apparently doesn't have direct access to NPD numbers anymore either.

I kinda agree with Max on this, there's no reason to believe it other than "You can't prove it's wrong".  Which is a fallacy in itself.  But it can also be right, since we can't prove otherwise.  It's just that Sony's been pretty consistent with their PR, they don't really mince words much and they did do better with Black Friday (Even if globally).  So it's possible U.S. numbers are down and ROR are up, which isn't too bleak.  Microsoft's PR just said they sold better in one day over last year.  Which means they sold worst in every other day.  Which might be a pretty big decline.

It has come to our attention that Daniel Rubino, Editor in Chief of WindowsCentral.com, has been badmouthing WMPoweruser.com over the last few weeks, variously calling the website "shaming" and crud.



Now of course we know Daniel's anger and attitude has not been reserved for WMPoweruser, with him variously going after Nokia Power User and often simply commenters on his own website and twitter. It suggests to us that he may be a man with a problem, possibly some kind of personality disorder, but I am sure this is not the image Mobile Nations wants to portray.

With that in mind, we of course forgive Daniel his statements, and hope he gets the help he, as a Windows Phone veteran and contributor, certainly deserve, while we pledge to continue bringing our readers the latest Windows Phone news, views and reviews from around the world, no matter what names we are called.

The one with the strange logic here is you my friend. That instead of taking the word of this fairly reputable site (you can keep calling them no name but that still won't make a site with 350k twitter followers, including the likes of Phil Spencer and Microsoft, a no name site) that is swearing on this information, you go "No, I need some random guy on a forum to confirm this for me" is absurd. That you try to undermine the authors and editors credibility by digging up irrelevant information is downright embarrassing, especially since you "don't care about who sells more".

Except there is. You have the author of the article as well as the senior editor of this reputable MS site both stating that they are 100% certain in the accuracy of the information they are posting, putting their entire credibility on the line here. If that's not enough to believe this then there was never any real reason to believe Aquamarines numbers either, after all it's not like she had anything to lose by posting false numbers and we had no way to confirm she actually had NPD number access either.

This site has something to lose, think about how easy Sony could blow this story up, if it was actually false. Which sane journalist would go out of his way to say he has 100% confidence in his information, if he in fact didn't in a situation like this.

Aquamarine was vetted by GAF's moderators and she collaborated with NPD George so that NPD and GAF could have better relations with each other. That was why people could take her word for it. Window Central's situation is completely different. There isn't an effective way to vet the site's numbers and as candid as the author was with the message, manners do not trump accuracy. The numbers are either right or wrong and unfortunately, we cannot verify unless Aquamarine reopens her Twitter account to share the numbers in January.

Window Central's situation is completely different. There isn't an effective way to vet the site's numbers and as candid as the author was with the message, manners do not trump accuracy. The numbers are either right or wrong and unfortunately, we cannot verify unless Aquamarine reopens her Twitter account to share the numbers in January.

How is Verendus an equivalent situation...? Yes, let us compare someone who claims to leak the PS4's upcoming games vs someone who has NPD data... And NPD George was banned because he created a GAF account through Aquamarine's computer, leading to the misunderstanding (that the mods still haven't admitted to).

And sure, GAF's vetting isn't failsafe. How about you apply that same standard with Windows Central? There is seriously no shame in saying "We don't know what the numbers are. Let's just wait."

As for some asinine notion that "you're doubting them so therefore you must cate about the gap" is just a bizarre use of logic... I know ps4 outsold xbox in Nov. I know as of now ps4 outsold xbox in December. I really don't care the gap. I care about legit and accurate information

The closest windows central came to commenting on sales is "xbox out sold ps4 3 months in a row." Which they got from Ms pr. Forgive me for questioning a sudden shift in reporting by a clickbait website

AV club has 433k followers on Twitter. They report on pop culture and entertainment. I wouldn't trust them to have some mole reporting on rumored sales figures. They are however more journalistic than this bunch of people
