I think it'll take a while for GR to hit that many sales with Asia carrying most of its sales.

Rorono

GRR doesn't need to reach 500k lol. Even 2 won't need much more than that (maybe 700k) to break even

Not really sure how you can say that without any knowledge of the budget of 2. I mean the remaster of course exists to help the second game both in revenue and attention but I think that GR2 is a significant project for SCE Japan and that they are looking to expand the series, especially in Japan I believe.

Rorono

Budget shouldn't be very high. Cartoonish style with little (probably none, actually) mo cap, no voice acting (made up language gibberish, keeps original voices and no dubbing in any region) and most Japanese games in general haven't really reached very high budgets. Other than what looks like some "fairly advanced" physics, it is a technically basic (but pretty) game. Team Gravity isn't exactlty big either. Everything is a lot like TLG, except that one's situation is aggravated by the very long dev cycle.
Can't see it being more expensive than 15M, +20 with marketing included
Of course, it'd be better to get some nice profit instead of just breaking even. Anyway point was that GRR definitely does not need to even come close to 500k

Oh yeah, GRR will probably be fine at something like 100k, that thing wasn't expensive.

Still for 2 I see Sony Japan going for growth (didn't they make a comment that they wanted to make Kat some sort of PS mascot?), so I think it'll have fairly heavy marketing, at least in Japan.

darkknightkryta

I kinda meant for growth, not necessarily money.  Gravity Rush as a series deserves way more than what it has.

The gap between 2 and 3 on the platform units chart is astonishing. Just goes to show how popular COD and Fifa are compared to the rest, and I guess it also shows how well PS4 is doing

I can be wrong but I remember FIFA being bundled with Xbox One and not PS4.
