Did you read that Kotaku story?

Or at least the snippets posted on gaf.

Lol Crazy though, isn't it? The story scrapped just a few months before release. Terrible development tools that bog down all of their processes. Writers basically being shunned while they cobble something together. The missions heavily reorganized. Major characters forced into the background. Some of them entirely changed. Like, it really sounds like they had two or three years of work to do in a 6 month span before they got another extension and just focused on polish and nailing down some loose boards.

We can expect annual destiny releases.  So every 2 years a new number and the year between a big expansion. Much better model then the full annual releases.

Anyway I would have thought they'd need until 2017 to have the time to fully make destiny 2 while addressing all the complaints from destiny 1 vanilla.  That was no proper campaign with a good story and about half the online content needed.

But maybe if this development cycle goes well they can so it all before November 2016. It would be sick if they could make a proper 8-10 hour campaign that was completely do able with 1-3 other players in online Co op.

they still want people to buy it. why buy dlc if the new game is coming out in 9 months?

doesnt matter to me really. i am not getting destiny 2. ill wait till the Destiny 2 comet DLC comes out with the base game for 60 bucks. and i will get that.

reading the kotaku article. they should just switch to unreal engine 4. im sure the switch would be difficult, but it will ease a lot of things and help them make A LOT more content.

Switching engines doesn't magically solve all problems. Bungie would still need to customize ue4 and any customization might just reproduce bottlenecks. Since they already have a shiped game using their custom engine, fixing that would probably be a much smarter solution.

I'll probably buy Destiny 2 at launch since I'm skipping ttk. Only played Destiny for the campaign.

im skipping TTK as well. its just way too expensive.

they sure as hell need to do something. because it seems their engine is shame.

Mediacreate:
Ps4 top again with 25k!
3DS 24k
Vita 15k
Wii U 11k
X1 430

Splatoon,  minecraft both up
Mario maker down slightly.

Very good hold for the ps4. According to comg there's nothing of note for it next week.  Nba 2k16 won't do much.

Next game worth talking about is God eater which it shares with the vita and that's releasing in 8 days so will be 2 mediacreate from now.

After that it will be OK.  So I guess next week will be the lowest it goes this year.  We've gone from 46k to 30k to 25k. Probably be around 23k next week before it holds or even begins to increase.

I expect 21k next week

Ps4 is 26k actually!

Aura7541

Very good hold for the PS4. The fact that it didn't have any notable releases for that week, but managed to sell almost 26K is a good sign.
