Nope. I looked three times before I posted. The first time was me browsing the hourly which prompted me to make a post about it. The second time I was looking through it as I was making the post. Then a third time to make one last check before I posted. That bundle was not in the top 100 early this morning.
Weird, maybe it had a moment where it went out of stock, so had no sales for a couple of hours

I thought so, too. When I looked again around 9 or 10 I noticed it and I thought maybe I missed it but then I thought about how thoroughly I looked.

The hourly charges each 2 hours... it is normal to see items in and out.

Quote from: Raven on Sep 23, 2015, 03:56 PMThe only exception was April 2015 but in that case the PS4 was neck and neck with the X1 AC bundle but then another X1 sku wasn't far behind.
5% is a good enough sample size to get a feel for where the market is.
It's not a 100% representative sample though, since it's online only and many in other countries import from amazon.

Not to mention the deals Amazon offers are unique to that retailer (see Best Buy's television XBO deal from last month). If other retailers offer the same deals or something similar, then yes, Amazon will be representative of the entire market to a significant degree.

The size alone is good enough even if that's the case.

There is nothing we can look to for 100% accuracy before the actual numbers come out. However, what we CAN do is look at how well Amazon has served in giving an idea of where the market was. Like I said, in every month with the exception of April 2015, with the reason I gave, the console with the highest ranked sku ended up winning NPD for that month. Sometimes Amazon made it look close but the gap was considerable. Sometimes Amazon made it look like a bit of a gap and it was closer than it seemed. Regardless, it was still a good indicator of where the two consoles stood in the ranks.

It has also been a good indicator of whether or not one version of a game was blowing out the other. This was certainly the case with Ground Zeroes and Type-0. The Witcher 3 was selling more on the PS4 on Amazon and when NPD came out it was revealed that, yes, the PS4 version outsold it. There are times when you do indeed have to look at what's going on with Amazon and think, "Yeah, with that many sku's above the competition's highest rank on Amazon there is no way the PS4 isn't kicking dog right now". Especially when nearly all of them, if not all, are available at other retailers as well.

Amazon was actually right in April this year because of the placements.  If ps4 has 1 sku top but x1 has 2 close behind its telling us x1 won.

Also there were stock issues and xbox deals with other retailers so it was obvious it was telling us xbox won that month.

Not necessarily. For example, software rankings are often way off.

Yeah, I remember people on Chartz thought The Order outsold Evolve in February, but NPD said otherwise. Though I think Amazon, at least, can tell us which version sold more. I need to check NPD and Amazon's previous monthly rankings to verify.

I was referring to hardware. We have more than a few examples of when software didn't line up. Though I also pointed out when it did. We've all known for a long time that software is very "iffy" when it comes to Amazon. We've discussed it in the past. Now quit being a baby. <3

Fallout 4 doing exceptionally well on amazon Japan.  Could this be bigger than we think in the East?

After the witcher ps4 beating Xenoblade wii u earlier this year I'd imagine so.
