Eh that's still 8.3m, by far their biggest seller ever. What's the worry?

Also a pc version not included in those numbers I assume

Were they expecting it to sell 50 million like GTA? Or whatever number GTA is at.

I guess they just hoped for much better legs ad more consistent post launch sales.

Nintendo financials tomorrow.
Gonna be interesting how Switch did and how well Switch games did. Mario Tennis seems to have done excellently.

My predictions:
Switch 1.45 Million(down to last year which should be expected)

Software:
Mario Odyssey: 11.2 Million
Mario kart 8 Deluxe: 10.3 Million
Breath of the Wild: 9.2 Million
Splatoon 2: 7.6 Million
1 2 Switch: 2.45 Million
ARMS: 2.1 Million
Kirby Star Allies: 1.85 Million
Xenoblade Chronicles 2: 1.52 Million

Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze: 1.25 Million
Mario Tennis Aces: 1.5 Million
Labo: 1 Million

Comments about Fortnite being passed 4 Million downloads on Switch. Octopath is already passed a Million overall.

It's not Capcom that was worried, some Investor were.

Ah yeah I thought I was remembering it slightly wrong.

Seems about right. Would Nintendo announce Octopath sales or would Squenix do that?

@Xevross

Yes. Unlike Mario and Rabbids, Nintendo published Octopath everywhere but Japan. It'll be on the next results if the West ships 1 Million+ which guessing from it having strong debuts all over, is a probability. Octopath probably will be in the next report(the one in October) since all signs point to it outpacing Bravely Default by a lot.

For Example:
Octopath still has stock issues but still sold a couple thousand last week in the UK. Get some stock and it should breeze by Bravely Default's lifetime sales no problem(since that is likely below 25k).

Also lol at some people on the internet who complain that a game with a gigantic launch doesn't have legs. I mean forget alone that a PC version is coming out early August....

Hm with the supply problems I'm doubting 1mil+ in the west will have happened. Also this wouldn't count in their report anyway since it released in July right? I hope they do announce some positive Octopath sales but I'm not expecting them to.

Yeah legs or no legs, 8.3M would be an incredible figure for MH:W in all its lifetime. Having sold that already its guaranteed to reach 10M with holidays sales, PC launch and stuff like that. What was the franchise best before this, around 5M? Everyone should be over the moon.

@Xevross Monster Hunter's best selling title (Portable 3rd) sold like 3.5 million (closer to 4 maybe).  This game destroyed that.

Very good job!

Splatoon looks like the only one you misjudged.
