Another good week for ps4. Over 30k and beats 3ds again. The big news is this week it passes the 3DS out on the YTD according to Famitsu.  Never thought I'd see the day.

It should start making some nice gains over last year now for the next few months.

Star Oceon did ok,  about 130k with digital and with PS3 release it will be alright.  I expect decent Asian sales on ps4 so when the west is added in it will be a financial success.  Square made a smart decision making it a budget title.  Otherwise it would have been bad.

Minecraft vita is just the king of legs.  +0% this week when hardware falls.  The game has been out at retail over a year so don't be surprised to see it still chugging in another 12 months.  750k retail here we come!

Wii U is tragic but it means the ps4 won't be long catching up.  The return of the king!

WiiU still having supply issues?
Seems more like demand issues to me

SOV did way better than what YSO predicted (<100K), so in that sense, that's good.

If the Wii U continues to struggle, then the PS4 should overtake the Wii U in around 5 months.

Final Fantasy XV on track to gross $600m, will reverse series decline | ZhugeEX Blog

FFXV is in an interesting spot.

FFXIII did pretty well, but it wasn't very well received and the sequels it had were very poorly sold.  That and the waiting times in between not so great games, has negatively impacted the franchise.
But FF is still a pretty large franchise.

I think a lot hinges on FFXV.  If it's really good, that could absolutely turn the franchise around.  If it's not so good, it could be the continue of its descent.

Do we think Uncharted 4 will move some consoles in Japan? It is the most technically impressive title on the PS4 and is a perfect game to illustrate why people need a PS4 to play such games. I know a few western games like GTA have done well in Japan but not sure about Uncharted 4.

Well its not been doing great on COMG so far. I think with good marketing it could open with over 100k, which would be very strong for a western game.

Yep, Uncharted does pretty well there for a western game.

Nope. Minimal boost at best.

Wait for FFXV.

I think a lot depends on how good it is. Sales will fall off a cliff again if it's as "poorly"  received as FFXIII and I'm honestly not convinced that the franchise still has enough power to open with millions in the West.
So, I think it can leg it out to 10m only if it gets great reviews and the fanbase gives it a great word of mouth.

After play the demo I strong doubt that.

Gameplay and presentation is too important to FFs and XV lack both.

The decline will be way bigger than FFXIII this time.

I wish to be wrong.
