Gametrailers discussion on Fallout 4 vs. RoTR, haven't watched far yet but I love that Bosman basically just says that Greenberg is full of shame here.

its actually a pretty good game. me and my brother played around 4 hours the other day. and i find myself wanting to play it alone even without somebody playing split screen with me. i know its the cool thing to hate CoD, but BO3 is actually pretty good.

you are forgetting split screen multiplayer. you need an additional PSN account to play split screen online. that surely has an effect on leader boards.

Also I guess remasters of last gen games without much effort put into them are now ok. Lol
Hopefully is does as  well as GOW3 :P

I'm pretty sure only ps plus accounts will get put on the leaderboard though. Plus plenty of people will play sp / zombies only so it's definitely over 4 million. Probably quite a bit over.

As for how good it is, I'd say it's the 6th best cod. I'm slightly disappointed

Quote from: Aura7541 on Nov 13, 2015, 07:33 PMHalo is not dead, but dying. It's going to take a while until Halo 6 comes out and the game might pull a Syndicate, i.e. it'll have better reception than Halo 5, but too little, too late.

Assassin's Creed is also not dead, but is definitely approaching death faster than Halo.

i dont think Halo is dying. i think it reached a point where the name "Halo" doesnt sell its self anymore. Microsoft and 343i tried to pull a lot of stunts with Halo 5 and thought people would gobble it up because its "Halo". which i think back fired

No big team games at launch
No forge at launch
No split screen
Little Master Chief
False Marketing of the story
Microtransactions that flat out break the unlock system (IMO)

Halo 6 has a chance to be bigger than Halo 5, because it will release on a considerably larger install base. if the game is good, i can see Halo 6 doing better than Halo 5. but the halo name is reaching a point where the game has to be interesting enough for the mass market to buy it like they used too.

they also have to let the halo franchise take a bit of a rest, which i dont think they will do, because Halo wars 2 is coming next year. next mainline halo needs to be atleast 3 years from now. let the people actually miss halo, not just keep on giving it to them every year or so in the form of a remaster, new release or spin off.

Lol vgc put tales of zesteria at 270k FW in the US. Considering it was not in the top 10 in Oct and that Destiny at #8 sold <200k without bundles you know this is another one of their classic overtracking of jrpgs

Rorono

That's related to their pretty bad pre order tracking. ToZ was over, Halo is over and F4 is severely under.

Cute Pikachu

Yeah Yoshi should be about right hopefully.  :'(

The problem is that there, at least to me, doesn't look to be anything on the horizon that stands a chance to even remotely take Halos place for MS. I'm assuming some people might be betting on something like Quantum Break, but looking at the way Remedy works as well as how there are actually not that many people uber-excited for the game (it somehow managed to get nominated for the most anticipated game award at the game awards for instance but has at this point only gotten 9% of the votes and is clearly in last place) I can't see that being a good candidate for MS.

What else is there? Scalebound is unlikely to sell as Platinum's games never do, Crackdown or that Rare pirate game don't seem that probable to me either. Sure Gears should sell well, but it's not going to replace Halo.

Look at Sony on the other hand, they are finding themselves in a much more comfortable position, with TLOU already being an obvios choice for a new monster franchise after Uncharted is finished and Horizon having all the potential to outperform everything that Guerrilla has ever put out before.

Now of course nobody's saying that every franchise you own has to be a 5 million+ seller, medium sized or even smaller franchises are just fine as long as they are financially viable, but there should be reason for MS to worry when their big prominent franchises Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable are now:

Fable: So irrelevant that people apparently don't even care that the next Fable seems to be delayed without any word from MS.
Forza: Basically completely oversaturated the market
Halo: Experienced a ridiculous dropoff in sales compared to the last mainline game
Gears: Pretty much the only that we imo can't really completely say how/if it has been affected much, the Ultimate Edition and Judgment aren't really good indicators.

QB, Crackdown and Sea of Thieves are guaranteed to flop sales/commercially. I have no doubt there.
I'm actually not putting Scalebound there because even though it's a Platinum game, "MS Games studio"'s interference seems to have westernized it quite a bit and could lead to a decent mainstream appeal, coupled with the open-world trend that's been going around and it might beat the more pessimistic expectations, even if it'll probably result in their worst game (barring budget titles like Korra).
Gears 4 will sell less than Halo 5, which is not necessarily bad, given it always has. The question is how much less. Should be enough to generate profit at least; probably the only profitable game the whole year.
Halo Wars looks like a money sink.. remember reading it's an hefty team within CA working on it and as it'll obviously sell much less than 5, I don't see how it could be profitable.

DerNebel

Well Sony is going to have a couple financial flops next year as well though. I have difficulties saying anything concrete about TLG but Gravity Rush 2 and the Tomorrow Children will probably not do well at all either. R&C also has way less public interest than it deserves the way the game looks. And the whole VR project is of course a huge gamble as well.

Oh and Dreams could also possibly tank completely, but it cold also become really big, it's really hard to tell to me.
