This is why Sony played it cool last year.  The average consumer (not your average forum gamer)  is well aware the PS4 is still at launch price and it's the in demand console.  

They are also well aware that xbox went into full on fire sale mode last year and that xbox is likely to do the same this year.

Whether they be proved right or wrong is another matter but right now they think ps4 never changes,  xbox gets insane deals.  

What this means is for every unit Microsoft and Sony sell,  Sony profit a lot more.  Higher price,  lower production costs,  lesser deals.  Sony playing a blinder this gen.

And if Sony do drop the price the average consumer will react very positively as it's not expected or even needed.

Ps4 down to 4k as expected.  Next week Boost could be huge.  

At least with the way mgs5 and the price cut fell Sony will have a good September followed by a good October.  Will look good on the yearly report.  

I'm hoping for 50k plus a baseline above 20k. If we got that and a good holiday on the current line up ps4 will be in beast mode 2016.

Didn't expect the Forza bundle to be lower than the other ones. At least Halo 5 is on the rise.

Or can it? Forza 6 doesn't seem to be doing as well as its predecessors. There is little actual hype for Rise of the Tomb Raider. Most of the big third party games are being promoted on PS4 and Microsoft has not done a good job so far of promoting Fallout 4. No confirmed release dates yet for any X1 titles for the first quarter of 2016 and those expected to be are not getting many people excited. That leaves Halo 5. Which isn't generating the hype that past Halo games have and to 343's fault.

I doubt it will reflect like that in any charts or the NPD. After all, two of the PS4 skus don't release until November and those will become the hotness that month while the others fade back. Just seems to be a lot of early buyers for the Black Ops 3 and Battlefront bundles. But, it's completely possible that as of right now the demand for PS4 is much higher.

Yeah I think demand for PS4 is much higher, especially since these holiday bundles have been awful so far. If PS4 gets a price cut its going to be game over completely. As it stands, MS have a good chance if they play their cards right.

We do need to keep in mind that this is a relatively recent development for the PS4 to have this many skus above the X1. So this could just be a fluke moment. However, two other things to think about. First, this is the first time that not a single Xbox One sku was in the top 100 hourly. That in itself is alarming. Second, the September rankings so far show PS4 well ahead of X1 anyways. We don't know what those actual numbers are but by rank the PS4 appears to be way ahead. I'm not aware of any deals going on right now anywhere that would pull sales away from Amazon. So far as I can tell, this current situation is totally legit and PS4 is beasting on X1 for the moment.

I guess we'll see what happens when these new bundles start selling and once halo releases/ gets close to releasing. I'll be shocked if the last bundle to be announced isn't halo 5 + xbox one for 349, that will surely do well.

It'd almost expected.  You give people more options and they scatter about to the different bundles making it hard for anyone of them to place. It would be different if xbox was setting the world on fire,  but it isnt. They really needed one kick dog hoilday bundle,  not a dozen mediocre ones .
