Wow.

So that means infamous, killzone, tlou, and driveclub are all probably pass 2 mil, and knack, lbp3, order, and bloodborne are probably all past 1 mil. First party games are selling!

This also puts the "If Game X sold 1 million, how come Developer/Publisher Y has not announced it?" argument to rest. It has to do with the sales pace. Infamous exceeded 1 million in 9 days; Bloodborne exceeded 1 million in 10 days. Those would make good PR statements. The Order might have gotten over 1 million sales, but it has taken a long time for it to do that, so there's no point in gloating about it.

People on chertz... it needs to be shipped lol

Wow that's a lot more than I thought. Very impressive but it still deserves a lot more! Amazing racing game!

Ohhhh God the guy saying to me Forza 6 will sell tons of digital when most sales come from retail... digital is really a small part of the sales and it will be this generation.
He says Forza 6 sales will be better than DriveClub due digital.

I can take any bet about that... DriveClub will sell more than either Forza 5 and Forza 6 lifetime by a good margin.

Ha! I guessed the person was Chris Hu and I guessed right when I looked on Chertz. Forza 6 needs to have as good of a business model as Driveclub's in order to do better. No microtransaction battleship, consistent post-launch support, and a Games with Gold edition equivalent to the Driveclub PS+ edition.

MCV reported Kantar WorldPanel's study on May 23, 2014. 72% of UK gamers prefer purchasing physical games exclusively. 18% purchase both physical and digital and only 10% buy digital only. The numbers likely the same in the US since the UK market is very similar to the US market.

I'm one of the 72%, I only buy digital if it's far more beneficial.

I buy 99.9% of all my games physically when I have the option. The only time I opted for digital was Driveclub.

Digital makes up 10% to 20% of a game's sales on consoles. That's better than last gen, but it's still not a huge amount for most games.

I don't mean to be a hardass, but do you have a link to the article that references a study that states that? It's really hard to find articles that report on the physical vs. digital console game sales >_<

I've heard that range from various sources. Pretty sure most recently was a GDC talk about sales. I'll see if I can find it publicly.
