Man I hate this gen
one consoles failing,
one had to do a 180 in policies,
and one didnt have a must have exclusive until a little over a year after
this gen sucks.

im really having fun with the PS4. its a good console, yeah its library isnt as good as the PS3's but thats expected since PS3 is out for 9 years now. PS4 is getting tons of games at the moment and the number is growing. more good exclusives are on the way and E3 is right around the corner.

Edit: you got me you little baby!! anyways you deserve an applaud for that xD

I was gonna say "What bumped the Wii U?" but I didn't realize a new Dragon Quest expansion was coming out.  Plus I forgot Xenoblade was release.

Interesting.

GW and two high profile releases only bumped WiiU to 3k above PS4 lulz.

3DS also got a tiny boost despite a big game and GW

Minecraft legs are insane

I know.  It didn't change anything that I said.  Actually agrees with it, in some respect.

To be fair I really think Nintendo needs to focus in the next machine... make it something else in the market ;)

If they do that 3rd-parties will jump aboard.

But isn't that part of the problem of what scared third parties away in the first place?  When the Wii first came out, third parties made a lot of titles utilizing the Wii-mote.  Like EA made a sports like title that was pretty nifty.  Other titles like Call of Duty, Red Steel, racers, etc.  They didn't sell.  What it comes down to is that the world moved on from Nintendo.  When Nintendo does do something right, the fans only want Nintendo games.  I really have no clue what Nintendo can do at this point.

MInecraft vita always impresses me over there :)
XCX did better than the original which is good considering there were no tv ads for it and is on a toxic install base that only buys 3 games.
PS4 just had like 50 games come out so if isnt selling over 10k then thats terrible XD

PROJECT CARS RACES AHEAD
11/May/2015
This year we've seen a couple of motorcycle racing games (PQube/Milestone's 'RIDE' & Koch/Kylotonn's 'Motorcycle Club') but now we have a 4 wheel racing game that does something that no other racing sim has done for 2 years – and that is to claim No1 on the UK All Formats Top 40 (since Codemasters' 'GRID 2' back in week 22, 2013).

The game in question is 'Project Cars' for PS4/Xbox One/PC, a crowd-funded AAA release developed by Slightly Mad Studios in the UK and published/distributed by Bandai Namco. It's also the first boxed product release to tick the following 3 boxes: triple screen 4K resolution and compatibility with Occulus Rift & Project Morpheus...although neither of these VR headsets are actually commercially available right now. Rockstar/Take 2 remain at No2 with 'GTA V' (-3%) and Warner's 3 week run at No1 with 'Mortal Kombat X' is over (-35%) as the title drops to No3.
In terms of other new releases there are 2 new Nintendo titles, starting at No21 with Wii U 'Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush' with amiibo functionality and then at No32 we have 3DS compilation 'Puzzle & Dragons Z + Super Mario Edition'. Re-entering the Top 40 for the first time this year at No38 is EA's 'Skate 3' (+15%), which continues to enjoy a cult following on 360/PS3. The game dates from 2010 but units sold in 2014 and 2015 so far are close to 25% of entire lifetime sell-through, which is a highly unusual sales pattern for a boxed product.

Kerotan

I wonder how ps4 does in tomorrows update for Japan.  Exceptional year so far.  I expect a bad simmer decline but it's held close to 20k the whole year so far.  Pity sony didn't have one big title for the summer.  Although the witcher 3 will be a hit.

Kerotan

Second part of golden week announced.

Ps4 16k
Wii U 11k
PS3 4k

Xenoblade massive drop to 11k. Still not over 100k.

Minecraft beasting with 16k

So ps4 pretty much beat Wii u golden week considering it was spread over 2 weeks.

Wii u - 33k
PS4 - 34k

And for total home console sales you can add on 7k ps3.

The witcher 3 will have good sales which will limit the damage of Splatoon.  By the time mgs5 releases the gap between Wii U and ps4 will be small.  I wonder if ps4 will take the lead this year or have to wait until FF15 releases.  Either way it's happening sooner rather than later.
